Chipped or shredded pine that has been coloured with vibrant black, brown, or red paint. Colourants used are highly resistant to UV fading from exposure to the sun and do not wash off in the elements. The wood itself deteriorates away before the colour stops adhering to the fibre.

USES: Suitable for all gardens for moisture-retaining and weed suppressant purposes.

APPLICATION: Apply to area 50 - 75mm thick. Turn once at mid-season to allow for even breakdown of mulch.

TIPS: Dump bulk mulch on to a tarp: freshly produced mulches may be subject to colourant wash-off, particularly when exposed to heavy rains. The colourant can stain driveways or yards, so it is recommended that bulk mulches be placed on tarpaulin to avoid any discolouration to the ground surface. Wet surface before and after: If no tarpaulin is available, we recommend wetting down the driveway or lawn before dumping the mulch and wash the surface off with soap and water after applying the mulch is there is any visible residue. Avoid rain where possible: Try to schedule your delivery and application on a day when heavy rains are not expected. Turn the mulch over: At mid-season, turn the mulch over with a rake to expose a different side to the elements. This will freshen up the look of the mulch without requiring additional materials. Coloured mulches will retain their vivid, eye-catching colour all year.

SAFETY NOTES:  Mulches produced by our supplier are safe for use around the home. Independent laboratory tests have confirmed that colour-enhanced mulches present no more concern for children or pets than regular mulches. Whilst some parts of the world still use lead or cadmium-based pigments in paints and coatings, they understand the risks involved with heavy metals and avoid using any hazardous materials in their products. They use some of the same materials to colour the wood fibre that other companies use in lipsticks, cosmetics, and food containers.
